[Eyes roll.]I wish I could say recent moments refined me – like precious gold, refined by fire, skimming off the impurities that surface in the process…or like an oyster that takes the irritant sand only to coat it with a natural, iridescent becoming a pearl…or like a diamond continuously and vigorously turned and polished to reveal the illuminating facets.
Yep, I wish it was like that. And maybe I’ll look back and think about it in that way. For now, realizing all my flaws in the midst of conversations and interactions just feels like standing in a spotlight…in underwear.
