About Joni Watson

Dr. Joni Watson is passionate about growing the healthcare professional workforce while also caring for existing healthcare professionals and fostering healthy work environments creating unparalleled, holistic care. She is particularly interested in program and service development, creative leadership fostering joy-in-work, professional uses of social media, lean rapid cycle process improvement, intrapreneurship to impact individuals and communities, and supporting individuals pursuing professional/scholarly publishing.

Joni has served in healthcare leadership roles from frontline nurse to local hospital and integrated healthcare system executive. She holds an Oncology Certified Nurse credential from the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Texas at Tyler. She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Executive Leadership from Duke University.
