Sunday I completed the San Antonio Rock & Roll half-marathon –  my third half-marathon – with a personal best time. It is mighty slow in comparison to many runners, but it was a big goal for me, and I am extremely proud.

My pre-race photo tradition. (The first time I did this I could just *barely* see my feet; running has helped me lose weight and keep it off.)

One of the easiest ways to keep my amazing colleagues in mind while running.

Sweet success!

I couldn’t stop running, knowing everyone behind me was looking at the message on my legs, and they were looking. As people passed me – many people passed me – they said things like “I’m a nurse!” and we’d high-five. By far the most stated comment from runners was, “Nurses do rock!” Needless to say, it was a blast. Wanna join me with the task and message next time? Start training now! You can run a half-marathon.
