Plateau. Not fun. At all.
I have worked so hard, and I’ve seen dramatic improvements in my overall health, but I am still not at a healthy BMI, which is my ultimate goal.
So, I am buckling down. I re-evaluated my physical activity and my nutrition, and it’s on! I am allowing myself six months to lose the last 20 pounds to reach a healthy BMI. That means I will post my results on or around January 20, 2012. (Posting my efforts makes me more accountable.)
Here I go! Join me?

July 23, 2011 10:00 amI am bad with annual goals, as we already know 😉 But that does not stop me from always trying to push myself a little bit harder.
I bought at WiThings scale in May to do some research for my consulting work, on how consumer health devices will influence health care. I’ve been standing on this lovely scale which pumps the data into my DailyBurn App, and keeps a great run chart for me. The progress has been in my favour, but it is summer in Canada and I am not longer eating residence food either, so there a few things going for me.
I’ve also hit that plateau, and realized that health is a an choice and a luxury. When life is stressful it can be hard to make all the right decisions. Right now I know I’m not always eating right or exercising as much as I should, and in the past I wouldn’t notice these type of plateaus. But it takes a lot of mental stamina to recognize them and act on them.
But you had my back for the research challenge, so I’ll be there to support you for your Jan 2010 goals.

July 23, 2011 10:13 amYou are so right that health is a luxury during our day and age. Rather sad, isn’t it?
Thanks for your support, Rob. 🙂
