While reading an e-newsletter about workforce issues – staffing, efficiency, team dynamics and sorts – the results of a poll caught my attention. It reported that nearly 70% of respondents would choose a different career if they had their life to live over again. I honestly have no idea what the poll size was, but still – 70%. That’s a pretty big percentage. It made me question what the poll respondents did for a living, what was happening within their roles to make them want a change, and why they were staying in roles and jobs that, if given a time-machine, they would overlook entirely.
And then I thought about nursing and nurses.
If you had to choose your career again, would you still choose nursing? Answer here*, and I’ll report back.
*This poll is completely anonymous. I’m not researching anything. I have no IRB approval. I’m just interested in the question…and the answers.
