If I have to choose between several different formats of education, I’ll probably skip over the conference. I’m not a big fan for my own education. There are a lot of people who agree with me, ditching the traditional conference for unconferences. Yet, I realize conferences, if done well, can result in tangible and meaningful outcomes – increased connectivity, synergy of efforts, knowledge transference, etc. I have been a part of a few great conferences; I’ve absolutely had my share of Get-Me-Out-Of-Here-Will-Anyone-Notice-If-I-Leave Conferences, as well.

How do you like to learn – nursing education or otherwise? What makes a conference great and worth your most valuable commodity – your time?
