Our work is the stuff of legend and perpetual, mythical whispers. Get a group of nurses sharing stories, and you’ll soon realize that you can’t make this stuff up. It’s like a reality, drama, or comedy tv writer’s gold (yes, all of those…take your pick). Because it’s bizarre and heart-wrenching and hilarious and stunning and beautiful.

And, it’s true.

Nursing is a hard career. It’s not glamorous when you’re in the middle of it. In fact, sometimes it’s downright difficult to stomach much of the time. The irony is that’s also the beauty of the profession. People who study their whole lives to give of themselves physically, mentally, and emotionally so others can survive and live life as best possible.

It’s nothing short of magical.
