Benner's "Novice to Expert"
I have used it in more papers and professional experiences than I can count, and there are articles upon articles about the groundbreaking nursing theory. It transformed the nursing profession. To say I admire Dr. Benner is an understatement. It just so happens that I married a sci-fi-tripping, comic book-loving, Star Wars nut, so when I heard colleagues refer to a great nurse as a “Jedi,” those two worlds collided. Just for fun:
