The more I am around successful leaders (who I consider successful), the more I understand the importance of saying the same thing over and over and over and over and over and over again. With so many people and key stakeholders needing to hear the message – no matter what it is – it’s important leaders are consistent with their message, spreading the same information near and far. And just when you think people understand the message, they barely understand it, so say it again and again and again and again and again and again.
I have a relatively small team, but I am part of a large system, and I work with many community organizations. Telling the same story and message with everyone – over and over again – is harder than it sounds. I want to move on to other things, other stories, other messages; still, I need to focus on repetition and consistency. A “simple” skill that’s not always easy.
