Lots and lots of orientation!

Oh, that’s not me complaining. Not by any stretch of the imagination. That’s me reveling in an organization committed to making sure I understand my job, role, responsibilities, and related processes and people.

I wouldn’t have appreciated this lengthy on-boarding process five or even ten years ago. No, but I guess once you have to jump in and learn a job and role as you go, you become more appreciative of the planned orientation. At least that’s my perspective.

It means a lot to me that my company appreciates me as a human resource enough to pour mucho time, effort, and knowledge into me from the very beginning. Just like orientation during assessment tells a healthcare professional a lot about the health of an individual, an organization’s orientation (process) reflects a great deal about the health of a company.
