I posted a few days ago about a not-so-shining example within nursing. Honestly, I debated whether or not to write about the topic. I love my profession, and I want to reflect such an attitude. After much thought, I shook off the fear and wrote.

Not everything within nursing is empowered practice and comfortable altruism. No, there are some – okay, many – disturbing facets to the profession and the people who comprise it. I want to write about those topics, too. I will continue to do so because I learn in the process, raise awareness among others, foster thoughts and discussions, and hopefully, spark small changes.

Good, bad, and yes, even quite ugly – nursing remains a brilliant profession.
