I am not a pedi nurse. With three children, though, my pediatric nursing skills have definitely improved, and I am now remembering lectures and information I haven’t thought of in eight years. Amazing how I’ve remembered all that information without consciously using it daily. Otitis media, pertussis, croup, strep throat, pneumonia – you know, the usual. (Okay, so pertussis isn’t all that “usual,” but you get the idea. It’s a whole new world of bacteria, viruses, and fungi that I’d rather view in a lab than have a toddler sneeze directly into my face.)
My latest adventure? Fifth Disease. Fun times. Chalk this one up to, “Oh, look what I get to learn more about now.”
