Little thank you's add up to big memories. Save all those cards to remind yourself just how fabulous you are. You might need to encourage yourself one day.

A colleague recently reminded me to pause during this transition time. Take a breath. Remember the years of work, the projects I have touched, and the relationships I have grown.

Sage advice, for sure.

In all of my busyness trying to wrap up projects, ensure all the details were dispersed to all the right people, I hadn’t taken time to really think about my life over the past several years. After all, not only had I seen the organization through important times, but the organization and my colleagues had seen me through some important times, as well.

As I cleaned out my office this week, I reflected a lot. I found numerous items and mounds of thank you cards that brought sweet memories, sighs of relief, and lots of smiles and laughter. I am so glad my friend – also a nurse – gave me that advice. The reflection has definitely been much-needed moments of self-care this week.
