As I mentioned yesterday, I have worked hard to leave well, which has increased my stress and anxiety over the past few weeks. As I expressed my mental exhaustion to mentors, they all said the same thing: “There has to come a time when you accept you have done everything you can.” Accepting that is difficult.
At some point the new projects must bypass my desk to another’s. Budget creation and planning must cease. The To-Do List must be recycled. Office pieces must be packed. My work here is…done.
Acceptance. I have definitely struggled with the concept because work continues despite my resignation, and I would like for it to continue as seamlessly as possible, as well. I have accepted it, though, and I must say, it is liberating to release that burden.
