Ever get the feeling that someone knows something about you and she is talking about that very thing – in code – to a large group of people?

This happens with leaders and team members a lot. We express something we are passionate about or simply observe in our own selves to a group of people and then someone in the group privately asks if the group conversation was directed solely at them.

It’s an interesting subsequent conversation, and it always makes me wonder about the story behind the private ask.

Any other leaders ever experience this concept either with “new” or “seasoned” team members?
