Need to create a custom color-coded map of your state? No problem-o. Check out Texas A & M University System’s Do-It-Yourself Color-Coded State Maps.

TAMU's DIY Maps is a real time-saver.

What started out as a Texas-specific resource has grown to include all states and even U.S. templates. These maps are perfect for showing distinct differences between counties and states. (Texas has 254 counties, so it is always nice to quickly and visually show the impact of a program – in my favorite colors, of course.)

I have utilized this resource for many grant proposals, presentations, and progress reports to funders. Simply select the needed template, define the parameters such as title, groupings, and colors, and presto…download and save your new, custom map (as a .gif).
