In honor of National Cancer Prevention Month, I am sharing one of my favorite resources – the World Tobacco Atlas. It has great information and lovely maps and infographs.

Tobacco is the world’s most preventable cause of cancer. It kills about six million people annually, one-third of whom die from cancer. Developing countries now bear the largest tobacco-related disparities due to lack of public health care and policies.

Utilize the 5 A’s, an evidence-based approach, and ask every patient about their tobacco use at every visit.
